From 167K to 650K: how our company pool grew

By Joe Zhou · TokoAI(51Toko) · 2026-07-05

The number of companies we can find suppliers from keeps multiplying. A 40-million-company database keeps cross-validating and improving the pool.

From V19 to V23, the company pool kept expanding. By mid-V23, TokoAI's total pool (China + overseas) reached 341,400 companies — more than double the 167,000 of the V19 era, and it had climbed past 650,000 by the time of this post (July 2026).

Where the data comes from

Those companies come from two blocks:

What is the 40-million-company database for

These companies were not filtered out of the 40 million. They come from original sources — trade-show lists, customs data — each with a provenance.

The 40-million database (two large datasets of 7M and 35M) is used to look up and complete these records:

So the growing figure is not "we picked X out of 40M". It is "companies with original provenance, completed, validated, and enriched by a 40M database".

Not more is better — more reachable is better

The more important number behind the pool size is its reachability rate. A supplier without a reachable contact isn't one you can source from.

That means when you tell us what you want to source, the system doesn't randomly pick from the full pool. It matches the most relevant batch from the reachable suppliers, and reaches them through our channel.

Next steps

Expansion does not stop. Trade-show sources keep importing, and customs data keeps updating. The goal: every supplier you might need is in the pool, and reachable.

Tell us what you want to source, and we'll match suppliers from this reachable pool and have them respond through our channel. Tell us what you want to source →

Frequently asked

How big is the supplier pool you match from?

We match from a large, continuously enriched base of companies — 1.61M+ in total, with 1.01M+ reachable via verified contact info, including 815K+ overseas reachable companies plus a China-based pool of 201K+ reachable suppliers. For buyers, what matters is the verified supplier side: trade-show exhibitors and other audited B2B sources we can find suppliers against your request and reach on your behalf.

Where does TokoAI's supplier data come from?

From public business databases, trade-show directories, and government procurement records, cross-checked into a reachable, high-quality supplier pool that we build and maintain ourselves.

How fresh is the data? How are emails obtained?

The pool continuously integrates new sources with cross-checking and deduplication; each source records its last-import date (e.g. customs data is tagged by batch). Emails are obtained from public channels and labeled by source; enriched fields are also marked with how they were obtained. Note: a collected email is not guaranteed deliverable — whether it reaches someone depends on whether that address is still valid, and we label this honestly rather than claiming "confirmed reachable". You can filter by conditions such as recently active suppliers when matching. Any freshness concern is flagged honestly in the report.
